Crossfire 1.5 now uses a huge world map, and a proper weather system.
The first image is generated from the world maps themselves, so you should be able to see some detail. The grid lines represent map boundaries, but since map tiling is in use, you won't see them in the game. This image does not include weather effects. Click on the small image below to see it.
The second image is a snapshot of the weather conditions taken about every two minutes which is how often the weather gets recalculated. This represents one hour of gametime. Reload this page every now and then to watch the changing weather conditions. Note the gulf stream and equator, which is diagonal! Unless otherwise stated, a darker colour represents a lower number. For the rainfall and windspeed maps, red represents higher than average rainfall or windspeed.

This MPNG format animation showing weather over time is not the best quality, but I don't know why. If anybody knows of a decent PNG to animation format encoder, let me know. In the mean time, here are the PNG files used to make the animation. If you watch for a very long time, you will see the equator drift up and down, this simulates seasons.
