>Yeah!!! We finally convinced you that learning how things ACTUALLY >work is beneficial! Anyway, I knew it would only be a matter of time >anyway. Honestly, I've wanted to learn how things have worked from the bottom level for a long time. Just been seriously lacking in time to do so. So in the kppp sense, it was faster to get that set up to I can learn more of the basic OS parts of Linux while dialing in and getting my mail. I work with AIX 4.3.3 all day long and enjoy it (I'm a Junior Sys Admin promoted up from the helpdesk about 2 months ago) while learning all I can. While my server won't have X on it, I do prefer Gnome for a GUI front end on workstations. Thanks for the info on the multi modem/link setup. Knew about the IRQ and serial stuff (Basic computing 101), but wasn't sure if the kernel was capable. I've been reading a book called "Linux Complete" from Cybex. Was cheap, $20, and covers a lot of information. The book is nothing more than a bunch of how-to's, and history, with some commands thrown in. Good book to get started with, and answered a lot of my questions. I briefly looked at the linuxdocs.org page and didn't see anything, probably overlooking far too many things. Shawn
