I can't speak for anyone else, but a 10baseT card is as fast as any other 10baseT card. If you want 100baseT, you can get it (more $$). The only thing I would suggest as a problem is mechanical -- an ethernet cable dangling off the little doodad on the card tends to eventually stress and bend or break cables, if you don't just sit nicely at a table. Even with strain relief consisting of a couple of twisties supporting the cable tied through one of the monitor supports of my laptops, I will end up replacing the "in between" adaptor.
