I gave MicroCenter a visit this weekend - they're not too far from me. However, I was only mildly impressed. While they have a _huge_ selection of stuff (beating Borders, General Nanosystems, and CompUSA), they have CompUSA-ish prices. For a company that makes their money moving large quantities of goods, I wasn't that impressed. Ooo! Speaking of good deals, tho, CompUSA has a special on the Iomega 4x4x6x External USB burner (for only $200). Supposedly, it works with the 2.4 USB stuff and cdrdao. Good news to hear, especially for us laptop owners. :) Nick Reinking chad at bitstream.net, on 10/05/2000 08:30:40 PM To: tclug-list at mn-linux.org @ PMDF cc: Subject: Re: [TCLUG:21990] Computer stores in the Twin Cities? I just visited Micro Center in St. Louis Park. It was right off of Highway 100 and 36th Street West (next to Burlington Coat Factory). I think it's only been open for a couple days. It still had that new store smell. It's a pretty cool place. It's what you'd get if you took the best parts of Border's, CompUSA, and General Nano and put them under one roof. It's about the size of a CompUSA, maybe a little smaller. The prices were pretty decent. The location kinda blows, expect to do a couple u-turns if you're not familiar with the area. Man, Dark Angel and a cool new computer store in the same week, and it's not even Friday yet. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: tclug-list-unsubscribe at mn-linux.org For additional commands, e-mail: tclug-list-help at mn-linux.org -------------- next part -------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: tclug-list-unsubscribe at mn-linux.org For additional commands, e-mail: tclug-list-help at mn-linux.org
