The networking interfaces are different between 2.4 and 2.2.  I once tried
tulip.c on a 2.3 kernel and it didn't work.  The problem then was the 2.0
version of the Linksys 10/100 cards weren't supported - so I had to download
the driver.  No good on the later version kernels.

hmmm,  I'm trying to rebuild my kernel to the 2.4.0 edition and can't seem
to find the driver for my old Dec Etherworks3 card.  There seem to be a few
files missing in the source tree.  Does anyone know if I can just copy the
missing ones over from the 2.2.18 sources?
