OK. I know I need to take the laptop in to recieve a new cmos battery. The only thing is First Tech is closed until Thursday. I would really be happy to boot into Linux on the notebook, but it hangs on setting up the cmos clock. I will buy large beer for anyone that can tell me a workable workaround for this. Open Firmware is probably the key. Maybe a boot param to kill the offending process. -- Spencer Underground whois microsoft.com
