I've had this problem a few times in the past. Usually it was from a new download and fresh burn on a cd. For me it has always been because I didn't burn it as a binary or iso but instead just copied it and the formatting was different. I would try a different cd if you have one. The bios handles the cdrom until the OS takes over. The OS is in ram so it may not have the correct drivers for the hardware it just booted from. Pain in the A**.
