Thanks Clay,

According to the software that came with the card, the card is set to irq
11 and ne was using a setting of 3.  I unloaded the module (ne) and
reloaded it using io=0x300 and irq=11.  I can now ping the other computers
on the network.  Now if I can just get through the gateway, more reading.
