Why not try a couple of pieces of Dynamat on the sides? This should cut down the noise vibration. It would be the same stuff they use in car stereo installations to cut vibration from Subwoofers. -----Original Message----- From: Troy.A Johnson [mailto:Troy.A.Johnson at state.mn.us] Sent: Friday, June 22, 2001 2:25 PM To: tclug-list at mn-linux.org Subject: Re: [TCLUG] reinforced computer case Florin, I think that it may be an extraordinary effort to shore up a cheapo case. You may want to take a shot at making your own if you go that far. ;-) Buying a newer, nicer one would probably save much time and trouble. If you are short on cash and long on time, take the cover off and push on the frame and see where it flexes (not too hard). You might be able to screw in strips of heavier gauge sheet metal to remove the flexibility, but be sure not to get in the way of the cover or block air flow. If you have the equipment available, duplicating the cover in a heavier gauge might do the trick also. Good luck, Troy >>> florin at iucha.net 06/22/01 01:39PM >>> I was actually thinking about some metal sheets... Just curious if anybody else tried that first. _______________________________________________ tclug-list mailing list tclug-list at mn-linux.org https://mailman.mn-linux.org/mailman/listinfo/tclug-list
