If you add net/ipv4/ip_forward=1 to the /etc/sysctl.conf, do you still need to use the echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward Just built a linux router with 802.1q trunking. Works quite well. Anyone have any ideas on how it'll compare, performance-wise, to a Cisco router? The pc it's built on is a P166, 64MB RAM, 100MB NIC.
