You could try: rpm -e samba-swat-2.0.10-2 That should remove Swat (the Samba Web Administration Tool), which should then allow you to upgrade Samba. I believe you'll need to use encrypted passwords to make your XP box talk to your samba server. You may want to take a look at the O'Reilly 'Using Samba' book.
