Yup, I'm running MandrakeLinux 8.0. No windo$e. What I want is a pop-up window that comes up after X/desktop is up. Will your suggestion make a difference on which desktop they use? I guess it really won't matter since they only use KDE in spite of my encouragement to try the others.
