Sorry for the newbie question, but is there a null display setting for the $DISPLAY env variable? I want to do the equivalent of: >xclock -display null:0.0 Or >export DISPLAY=null:0.0 >xclock & Where the above would make the display manager think it is bringing up xclock on a perfectly good display that is the equivalent of /dev/null.
