Is anyone aware of some software which will run on Linux that would enable you to monitor the system based on the sounds it is making? For instance, every time an a particular action is performed, the kernel generates a tick or tone. This would run in the background, and even though you might be working on code and not have time to constantly be checking your ps -ax output you could become accustomed to the general pattern of tones being generated by the kernel, and if you start noticing unusual audio patterns, you can go run your ps -ax and see what is going on. Sort of like listening to an engine run. Is anyone aware of any Linux software that does something like this? Thanks, - Jamie And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you. - Nietzsche _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota http://www.mn-linux.org tclug-list at mn-linux.org https://mailman.real-time.com/mailman/listinfo/tclug-list
