I use courier-imap, I'm not sure if will have an RPM for it or not, most likely not. I build all my e-mail related software from source... Note that courier-imap only works with Maildir's. If you use mbox you may need to try something else. You might actually have an IMAP server installed as I'd assume the SquirrelMail RPM would require one. Maybe it's just not started? Try rpm -q --requires SquirrelMail (or squirrelmail?)
