I second that recommendation, but the free product must be manually run every time you wish to use it. They have non-free versions of the product ($27 for "plus", $40 for "pro") on their web site: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ that run in the background and automatically update, but I have not used them, so I cannot say for sure that they work or work well. Has anyone used them? Troy >>> Dan.Lansing at AndersenCorp.com 07/30/04 10:21AM >>> Adaware from lavasoft is pretty good, and free. It will not catch everything but does a fairly good job cleaning out most of that crap. Also finds a fair amount of microsoft installed 'spyware'. When I ran it on my work machine here about half of the 63 some objects it found where put there in a standard windows install :) -----Original Message----- Sent: Friday, July 30, 2004 10:10 AM To: TCLUG Mailing List Subject: [TCLUG] [OT] Which spyware removal tool? Anyway, I'm looking for some recommendations for Windhoze spyware removal/blocker tools. Free is good but money is not an issue if it works well, gets automatic updates, and scans/cleans her computer on a scheduled basis. Automated removal without dialogs would be a big plus! _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota Help beta test TCLUG's potential new home: http://plone.mn-linux.org Got pictures for TCLUG?
