I have an amd k6-2 500 MHz and 192 megs of sdram. I have been using fluxbox for a long time too, but I never use the opaque windo moving feature. I think I did before, but havent had any of the problems you described. If you installed fluxbox from a binary package, then concider compiling it from source.
