Fully-licensed ESXi is *exactly* the same software-wise as the free version. What license key you apply to the machine just unlocks certain features. You should be able to keep the VMs running and just apply the key and be done with it. Who knows what was added to or removed from the OS from a not-so-trustworthy source. If I were you, I'd shut down the 6 VMs, copy them off of the server, re-install with ESXi downloaded from VMware directly, then copy the VMs back onto the server. -Erik
