My problem is I have no idea what to investigate. That's kind of what I'm asking. What do I look at? I don't know a lot about mdadm past actually creating the array. This has happened to me on different machines with different hardware, different kernels, different versions of ubuntu. When the kernel starts booting, just starts, it says the RAID is degraded and throws me into busybox... and if I just reboot a few times it ends up working just fine. so SOMEthing weird is going on, but I have no idea where to look for it.
