Paul,

Enabling VT-d in the BIOS should give you what you want to run Xen (or any
hypervisor) on this system.  I have a Lenovo M57p myself and run various
hypervisors on it without issue.

Beware of TxT.  To be honest I had never heard of this, but after reading
about it:

I would be wary of enabling it.

I'm not sure where this requirement came from.  VT-d is what you want, so
