As Clug suggested, +1 for SANS Digital, it worked well for me at a
previous gig. Currently I use an Addonics device now (USB3 or SATA
III, 5 disk tower w/ JBOD, RAID0,1,5,6,10 options) and am happy with
this also.

Totally up to you, you can have the device manage the JBOD or RAID, or
let the OS do it (this may require USB or SATA port multiplier
though). Depending on what you're expecting, my experience has been
better sustained transfer rates over SATA bridge; USB3 is fast, but
transfer rate seems to ebb and flow a little.
