<a href="http://www.x.org/X11R6.8.2/doc/siliconmotion.4.html">http://www.x.org/X11R6.8.2/doc/siliconmotion.4.html</a> which says that the
SM710 is supported using the siliconmotion <a href="http://x.org">x.org</a> driver. Another
website says that siliconmotion is not supported in Xfree86 4.1
(<a href="http://the.earth.li/XFree86/4.0.1/Status29.html">http://the.earth.li/XFree86/4.0.1/Status29.html</a>)<br>

I couldn't figure out what module needs to be loaded for it to
work. But you might just try running 'dpkg-reconfigure
xserver-xfree86' (as root) and see if you can choose siliconmotion as a
possible driver.<br>
<br>
Run 'dpkg -l xserver-xfree86' to find out what version of xfree86 you are running.<br>
<br>
You might have to try running Ubuntu (another Debian based distro) that
uses <a href="http://x.org">x.org</a>. Or you could have a go at Debian's unstable branch
which has just included <a href="http://x.org">x.org</a>.<br clear="all"><br>-- <br>Jeff Rasmussen<br>GPG public key 0x9686C12F
