I ate a sandwich this weekend while typing on my dell 7500 laptop. Just thought I would try to top the spam I got from Spencer. It sounds to me as if you are the one with the problem. You are the one that interjected the 'condensending tone' into the post. I like running Kismet because it is quite possible the best 802.11* sniffer available. Kismet shows alot of information on not only the AP's that it finds but also on nodes that are connected to it. I like to run MacStumbler because it doesn't destroy my airport drivers. I am able to run MacStumbler and use my airport for connectivity at the same time. I like to run KisMAC because it has a really nice GUI front-end and has made some great improvements in its functionality in the past few months. KisMAC is not as mature as Kismet, but it certainly an excellent tool. As a related note, I recently (this weekend), compiled kismet on my TiBook laptop running Mac OS 10.3. There are still some driver (loading and unloading) issues that need to be resolved, but I am glad to see Kismet with Mac OS X support. -- Linux Administrator || Technology Specialist || Wifi Engineer http://autonomous.tv/~spencer/resume/ || spencer at autonomous.tv Key fingerprint = 173B 8760 E59F DBF8 6FD2 68F8 ABA2 AB08 49C7 4754 _______________________________________________ Twin Cities Wireless Users Group Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota http://www.tcwug.org tcwug-list at tcwug.org https://mailman.real-time.com/mailman/listinfo/tcwug-list
