I think Matthew's point was FCC part 15 certification, or lack thereof in anything modified after purchase (where modification can be interpreted as adding a 3rd party antenna) - which is a rat-hole I don't intend to get sucked down. Correct me if I'm wrong, Matthew. The "turn the wick down 1dB for every 3dB of antenna gain" rule applies to point-to-point links. The point-to-multipoint rule is 1dB for every 1dB of antenna gain. Makes sense if you look at it from a spatial-reuse-of-spectrum standpoint, it's an incentive to use point-to-point links and highly directional antennae. -- andyw at pobox.com Andy Warner Voice: (612) 801-8549 Fax: (208) 575-5634 _______________________________________________ Twin Cities Wireless Users Group Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota http://www.tcwug.org tcwug-list at tcwug.org https://mailman.real-time.com/mailman/listinfo/tcwug-list
