From austad at signal15.com Sat Jun 3 01:43:49 2006 From: austad at signal15.com (Jay Austad) Date: Sat, 3 Jun 2006 01:43:49 -0500 Subject: [tcwug-list] USB prism2 and airodump-ng Message-ID: I can use airmon-ng just fine to get my dongle into monitor mode, but it seems that airodump-ng now tries to put the wlan0 interface into monitor mode also, and it's failing with "Error setting monitor mode on wlan0" The old airodump didn't try to put the card into monitor mode, but relied upon the user to do it manually. Any ideas on how to fix this? It appears there are no options in airodump-ng to tell it not to attempt to put the card into monitor mode, so I'm not sure what's going wrong. There is no other output except for this error message above. ~jay From becca at ilsr.org Mon Jun 12 10:45:45 2006 From: becca at ilsr.org (Becca Vargo Daggett) Date: Mon, 12 Jun 2006 10:45:45 -0500 Subject: [tcwug-list] Minnnesota Telecom Policy Forum - Wed 6/14 Message-ID: <5D8F5C72-385B-4077-82D7-4C2605CFD871@ilsr.org> Have ideas on how to improve access and availability of broadband in Minnesota? Do you think Minnesotans would be better served by more cities building publicly owned broadband infrastructure, as in Windom, Chaska, and Moorhead? Or by further deregulating cable and phone companies and providing incentives for them to upgrade their networks? Participate in a discussion of these and other telecommunications policy issues at a special Telecommunication and Information Society Policy (TISP) Forum: Roundtable Discussion Robert Crandall, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution, and Minnesota State Senator Steve Kelley Wednesday, June 14, 2006, 4:00 to 5:30 P.M. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, Room 215, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis (West Bank) Both guests will open this special roundtable event with informal comments, followed by discussion. This program will gather stakeholder views to incorporate into a forthcoming TISP Forum policy report. The report will help frame future industry and public sector decisions for telecommunications and information services in Minnesota. Can someone on this list tell me what I should tell the techies at the new Mpls Central Library to get their wifi network configured so I can send and receive POP mail? I mentioned this problem to them about three weeks ago and they said they'd fix it in a week, but I didn't get the feeling they fully understood what I was asking them to do. I love the new library, and I'd spend a lot more time there if I could use my mail client software, instead of just my mail server's web interface. Advice is appreciated. thanks, leif -- Leif Utne mobile 612.327.0123 www.utne.com http://public.xdi.org/=Leif.Utne -- From ben at nerp.net Wed Jun 21 16:19:32 2006 From: ben at nerp.net (Ben Kochie) Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2006 14:19:32 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [tcwug-list] mail problems at Mpls Central Library In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 are you using encrypted pop3?
